Team Planit were super busy last week, with the arrival of the 4th year of the Loch Ness Knit Fest!
Taking place from the 17th– 20th of October, our woolly wonderful festival made use of a variety of venues including the Leisure Centre, Mercure Hotel for evening events and Bogbain farm for the popular Knit Fest concert.
Those who joined us were able to participate in several workshops, listen to presentations, browse our yarn-focused marketplace, and enjoy evening entertainment with a Scottish theme and our famous hospitality.
We welcomed around 2,000 guests from more than 23 different countries, all of whom were looking to celebrate everything wool.
Amy Davidson, of Fluffy Felts, was teaching this year at the festival, and her ‘Painting with Wool’ workshop sold out in a number of weeks. When asked to sum up her thoughts on the festival in a few words she opted for ‘amazing community!”
This was reflected over attendee feedback, a number of whom commented on what a great friendly vibe the festival had, and those who had travelled to the Highlands were made to feel incredibly welcome here!
Entertainment included local musicians, highland dancers and the annual LNKF Fashion Show, featuring a variety of designers.
