Here at Planit Scotland, we want to address the public disquiet around the growing number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. The World Health Organisation have now declared the situation as a global pandemic which is affecting many people’s day-to-day, working lives. We understand the worries that the public, and businesses, have around the spread of the infection.
Planit recognise that our clients, and other business owners, will be concerned about whether they are making the right decisions keeping their business running as usual or not. We, of course, are here to support our clients through these uncertain, difficult times and to offer support and advice on the best working practices going forward if need be.
At Planit, we are super used to flexible working, so we have identified steps our clients can take to work sensibly when working from home from our own experience. By ensuring that team members have access to all systems and technology resources, employees can work from home if need be. It is important, however, that you ensure your systems are secure! We find that by making use of platforms such as Zoom and Skype to host meetings, rather than meeting in person, we can still have work-related conversations from home. Finally, we are a big fan of Trello, this to-do list platform can enhance work efficiency for those who are not working in the office.
For those of us who are unable to work from home but cannot go into the office, there is no better time to encourage enhancing staff training by making use of platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, Google Garage, and YouTube tutorials.
This is not something that any of us has planned for. However, we believe that by being vigilant, taking care, supporting each other and making sure our actions don’t affect others around us who may be more vulnerable, we can get through this together.
